Gasconade County R-II School District

The Gasconade County R-II School District consists of 354 square miles that include territories in 4 counties (Gasconade, Franklin, Crawford, & Osage).  A 7-member Board of Directors guides the activities of the District.  The District operates 6 attendance centers for 1,980 students.

Facilities
As a result of tremendous financial support from R-2 District patrons the R-2 students attend school in excellent facilities.  The most recent support was shown when district patrons approved a 14 million dollar bond referendum for the purpose of building a new elementary school and additions and renovations to other district attendance centers.  The Gasconade County R-2 School District is admired by many area school districts for the excellent facilities provided to our students.

Faculty & Staff
282 employees serve the R-2 students, 159 are directly involved with instructional programs as teachers, administrators, coordinators, and specialists.  A support staff of secretaries, instructional/clerical aides, food service workers, bus drivers, maintenance/custodial workers and nurses, make up the other 123.  R-2 Teachers’ salaries are competitive with schools of comparable size.  In-service programs are sponsored regularly and professional growth is encouraged.  Average district-wide pupil/teacher ratio for regular classroom teachers is 20 to 1.

Students
The Gasconade County R-2 School District offers a comprehensive educational program stressing high school achievement.  The high school offers 135 hours of credit which meets the individual needs and interests of our students.  High School Students consistently score above the State and national average on the ACT.  In addition, the district offers twenty-four student activities and the following interscholastic sports: baseball, softball, basketball, football, golf, track, volleyball, cross country, and wrestling.
